| |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 1. Unless modified by the following articles, ASA Modified Pitch Rules will govern rules of play. |
|
| |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 2. A $25.00 fine will be assessed against any team not represented at a scheduled league meeting (15 minute grace period) |
| |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 3. All teams will be ASA members with the ASA fee paid by the league through entrance fees. |
|
| |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 4. Regular playing nights will be Monday through Thursday. Games may be scheduled on other days if necessary. |
| |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 5. Games must be played when scheduled. Games may be rescheduled only for the following reasons. |
| 5.1 Inclement Weather-Games must be called off before 5:30 PM of the scheduled day. The home team will be |
| responsible for contacting the scheduled umpires and visiting team’s representatives; 1 hour before game time. |
| 5.2 Umpires are unavailable. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 5.3 Field is unavailable due to the conditions beyond the control of the home team. |
|
|
| |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 6. Umpires: |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 6.1 Each Game will be played with two ASA umpires assigned. Each umpire will be paid $25 per game. |
| 6.2 If one ASA umpire is used, they will be paid $35 per game. |
|
|
|
|
| 6.3 Umpires must be notified at least one hour prior to game time cancellation. A $10 show up fee is to be paid if |
| umpires are not contacted. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 6.4 If game is a forfeit (one team short players) umpire(s) get $20 [game never started]. |
|
|
| The forfeiting team shall pay the umpire fees. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 6.5 If games starts, and less than 2 2/3 of game gets played do to weather / field, than umpire(s) get half pay |
| (the umpire will need to reimburse you the variance since they should have been paid already) |
|
|
| 6.6 If three innings are completed, then umpire gets full fee. |
|
|
|
|
| 6.7 If a make up of suspended game occurs, umpires get $3 per inning if two umps, $5 per inning if single umpire. (Up to |
| maximum pay of full game fee; in other words, if make up goes another 7 or 8 + innings maximum pay is the $25 or |
| $35 as is in #’s 2 & 3 above.) |
|

|
|
|
|
|
| 6.8 If neither ASA umpire shows up for a game, the game must be cancelled. Games can not be played using |
| recruited umpires. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 6.9 Umpires must be paid before the game begins |
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 6.10 If the visiting team forfeits, the cost of the umpires will be split between the teams. |
|
|
| |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 7. Games must be rescheduled within 14 days of the cancellation date on the date agreeable to both teams. |
| The home team should contact the League President before the end of the 14th day period with either the date the |
| game will be played or to let him know that an agreeable date could not be reached. Failure to contact the president |
| will result in a $10.00 fine. Failure of the two teams not reaching an agreeable date will result in the League President |
| and Vice President (Or League Officer) scheduling the game on the next available open date using any field available. |
| In the event on team fails to “show” on the rescheduled date, a forfeit will be declared. If neither team “shows” a forfeit |
| will be charged to both teams. |

|

|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 8. The home team must report game results to league statistician by Sunday evening at 12am each week. The scores |
| can be reported by either using the league website, e mailing, or calling the league statistician. Failure to report |
| the scores will result in a $5.00 fine for each game not reported. |

|
|
| 9. Both teams will be required to keep a scorebook. The home team’s scorebook is official. All players attending the |
| game must be written in the scorebook. Scorebooks will be used to verify player’s eligibility for playoffs. |
|
| |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 10. Games will start at 6:30pm unless conditions warrant starting at some other mutually agreeable time. A 15-minute |
| grace period will be allowed before the umpire declares a forfeit. |
|
|
|
|
| |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 11. Ground rules must be available at each field by the home team. |
|
|
|
|
| |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 12. Two new league approved balls will be used for each game. |
|
|
|
|
| |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 13. Roster limit is set at 25 Players. |
|
|
|
|

| 14. Rosters must be turned in to the league president or his representative at the last meeting before league play begins. |
| There will be no changes allowed after the midpoint of the season. The actual date will be determined by the current |
| league schedule. A player may play and be listed on only one roster. |
|
|
|
|
| |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 15. Any new additions or changes to the rosters must be given to opposing managers before games and to the league |
| president before the deadline. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 16. Written release of a player must be signed by the releasing team manager and approved by both managers. |
| The release must be given to the league president before the player begins play for another team. |
|
| |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 17. Release will be limited to one release per player per year. |
|
|
|
|
| |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 18. Uniform requirements: |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| All players should have matching shirts and matching hats to play ball. Colors must be alike with the number per |
| ASA rules. Metal spikes will not be allowed. Pants or shorts are optional. |
|
|
|
| |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 19. A 12 run rule is in effect at any time after 5 full innings. (A 10 run rule in effect at any time after 6 full innings. |
| (Equal at bats will be in effect per ASA rules.) |
|
|
|
|
|
|
| |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 20. A $25.00 protest fee payable to the league will be required for each protest filed. The rules committee will make |
| rulings on protests. The rules committee at their discretion may forward the protest to the ASA for their ruling |
| according to ASA procedures for protests. Only protests on rules interpretations will be recognized. If the committee |
| rules in favor of the protest the $25.00 fee will be returned to the team. |
|

|
|
| |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 21. You must start the game with at least 8 players; the 9th and 10th player can come in at the 9th and 10th spot in the |
| batting order. If the team playing with 9 or 10 players is reduced to 9 or 8 players for any reason, there will be an out |
| recorded when that player’s position in the batting order is reached. If you start the game with 8 or 9 players there |
| will not be an out recorded at the 9th or 10th position in the batting order. If the team with 8 players is reduced to 7 |
| the game is a forfeit to the team with at least 8 players. |

|
|
|
| 22. Extra Hitter: |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| An Extra Hitter (EH) may be used. This will result in having 11 batting positions in the line up. The EH must be listed |
| in the lineup before the game starts. The EH can play offensively only. The player listed as an EH can not play |
| defense or enter the game in any position. The EH can be pinch hit for and re-enter the game one time. Just like any |
| other player. If the EH is removed from the game an out will be recorded when that player’s position in the batting |
| order is reached. If an injury and no players are available the EH can go into play the field. (There will be no out |
| recorded for the injured player, but the batting order will not change.) |

|
|
|
|
| 23. All suspended games will be finished after the next regularly scheduled game between the two teams involved at |
| a cost of $3.00 per inning, per umpire to be split between the two teams. |
|
|
|
| |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 24. A team may change team name and field as long as there is no monetary liability owed to the previous sponsor or |
| field owner. This will be brought to a vote at league meeting to validate. |
|
|
|
|
| |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 25. Bats: |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| Single wall 1 piece aluminum or aluminum alloy or wooden bats, (new aluminum bats must be ASA 2004 ASTM2219 |
| Certified) Exceptions are grand-fathered aluminum bats. Wooden bats may not have any kind of coating. Up to date |
| bat list is posted on the website. |
|
|
|
|

|
|
|
|
|
| 26. Playoffs & League Tournaments: |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 26.1 League Officers will govern format and scheduling of playoffs. |
|
|
|
|
| 26.2 To be eligible for League playoffs, a player must have attended 1/3 of League games scheduled for his team. |
| 26.3 All fines must be paid before the team will be eligible to play in League Playoffs & League Tournament. |
| 26.4 The top 4 teams will be in the playoffs at the end of the regular league schedule. 1 plays 4, 2 plays 3, with the |
| winners advancing to determine the League champion. Best record will determine home field advantage. If tied, |
| it goes to head to head play. (APPLIES IF PLAY-OFFS ARE FOR 4 TEAMS ONLY) |

| 26.4.1 If there are two divisions of play for the given season, then a total of 6 teams will qualify for League playoffs at |
| the end of the playing season. The team with the best record from each division will earn a bye in the first round |
| of playoffs. The teams finishing 2nd and 3rd in their given division will play in the first round of playoffs. Home field |
| advantage is awarded to the team in the series with the best record. Winning teams will then advance to play the |
| division leaders. Winners of the second series will then meet to play for the League Championship. |

| 26.5 All teams will be eligible to play in the league tournament. The seeding in the tournament with be determined by |
| regular season record. (The tournament brackets will be decided by the league officers and board members). |
| Hat drawing may be used if approved by league officers. |
|
|
|
|
|
| 26.6 TIES: To be governed by league officers and board members |
|
|
|
|
| 26.6.1 If 2 teams are tied, the tiebreaker will be head to head |
|
|
|
|
| 26.6.2 If 3 or more teams are tied, the tiebreaker will be combined record of head to head play of teams involved. |
| 26.6.2.1 If equal, better finish in league tournament will determine seeding. |
|
|
|
| 26.6.2.2 If still equal a coin flip will determine the order of finish. |
|
|
|
|
| |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 27. If a team does not participate in the league tournament they must pay a $100 fine to team or teams running the |
| tournament. If they play 1 game and forfeit another game in the tournament the team is entitled to pay a $50.00 fine |
| to the team or teams running the tournament. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
| |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 28. Player Ejection’s: Any player ejected for a second time from a league game will be given an additional 1 game |
| suspension. A third ejection will result in a $50 fine along with the game suspension. |
|
|
| |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 29. Playoffs will be governed by ASA championship rules for completion of games. |
|
|
| |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 30. All teams will supply 1 ball for each game and split umpire fees with each other. |
|
|
| |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 31. A courtesy runner will be allowed for the pitcher and catcher only. The runner shall be the last person to record an |
| out in the previous inning. If the pitcher and catcher become base runners in the same inning, then the second |
| courtesy runner shall be the person that recorded the second out of the previous inning. EX: 2nd inning and the |
| catcher gets on base, the courtesy runner will be the person that recorded the 3rd out in the previous inning. Now the |
| pitcher gets on base and the courtesy runner to be used is the person that recorded the second out of the previous inning. |
| The only exception is the first inning where an out has yet to be recorded. (Note: an out must be recorded to have a |
| courtesy runner.) |
|
