Welcome To The Schuylkill County Modified Softball League
Schuylkill County Modified Softball is based in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. The league currently consists of 9 teams that play at four fields located in the county. The 2010 season is scheduled to begin May 3rd. This year the league will also play league games the weekend of May 15 & 16 at the Summit and Marstown fields with each team playing at least 4 games. The 2009 season of the Schuylkill Modified Softball League came to close Tuesday night, the 18th of August, and it ended the same way as it started….with rain!!! This past season brought new teams, new players, divisonal play, an all-star game, home run derby, new play-off format, a new home run leader, rain and make-up games like never before and first time league champs–O’NEALS PUB. Congrats and thank you to all players, teams and fans for your support and for making the 2009 season a memorable one. CLICK THE “READ MORE” LINK TO SEE PLAY-OFF GAME SCORES & RESULTS. The 2009 league play-offs are set to take place on Monday, the 3rd of August. The series will be a best of 3 format. In Division 1, Summit will be hosting the Black Sox at Summit and in Division 2, Fishbone will be hosting Superior 3 at Hetzels. Both games will start at 6:30pm. On Tuesday the 4th, there will be two games at Marstown with the first starting at 6:30 and the second at 8:00. First game will be Summit vs Black Sox and the second game will be Fishbone vs Superior 3. Summit will host it’s September Classic Modified softball tournament the weekend of September 11-13 at the Summit and Friedensburg fields. The entrance fee is $200. This is an open roster tournament. Only single wall one piece aluminum bats will be allowed. (No composite, double wall or two-piece bats will be allowed) 10-man pitching style (no slingshot). The 2009 season is just days away, with the first day of games set for May 4th. Reminder to all home team coaches to make sure that scores are reported through the “report a score” link or by e-mailing Squid. Also to all coaches, don’t forget to report all home runs to Stager via e-mail. Please list player(s) complete name, date and how many so that an accurate count can be done and listed on the web-site.
